Lousiana Fertility Clinic Loses Embryos
Ochsner Hospital-Elmwood fertility clinic is shutting down its doors indefinitely after loosing the embroys of Kim and Abraham Whitney. The couple had spent their life savings--nearly $15,000--to fertility. About two years ago they were able to conceive their first daughter due to the IVF creations of the Whitney's embroys using Kim's eggs and Abraham's sperm. In October 2008 they tried to have another child, which is when the problems begin with the clinic. Eventually, the hospital admitted that it misplaced the embryos of dozens of other couples. The Whitneys and another couple have filed a class action suit against the clinic.
